My arrow just missed a forest grouse setting overhead in the high limbs of a half dead pine and disappeared over the top of a neighboring tree. My son, who pitched baseball in school, laughed as the arrow zoomed out of sight and said he could hit that bird with a rock instead of wasting an arrow. To demonstrate, he leaned over and picked up a rock, leaned way back, made a side arm throw, and broke all 6 arrows in his side quiver. My laughter is still echoing off the mountains.
