In May of last year I posted the entire booklet. For those of you who prefer to have the real thing instead of a digital copy I'm selling them for $11 shipped. CONUS only, please.

You can also find them on eBay. So far, one sold for over $17 and one for $30. Even if someone paid the starting bid price of $9.95 that would come to $13.95 with shipping.

These are new and in excellent condition They are the original 1978 printing, not a reprint or copy. The booklet is 4" x 7" and 16 pages.

I prefer PayPal, but a check or money order will do.

Thanks.

I shot the Super Razorhead back when I used XX75's.  They were ok but broke easily.  No straightening out those puppies.  I even have a belt buckle with one sealed in resin.  Too bad it's all scratched up.  Frank

Am I to assume that this is  a copy of the same pamphlet/booklet that I posted a copy of up on the ABCC Facebook page early 2018. I did it because I thought that it was very interesting, only to be informed that the information it contained was misleading.

Quote: "Many of the broadheads shown were not the model broadhead used on the hunt shown in the photograph and some of the text is incorrect or misleading."

Again: "
While the iconic bowhunting photographs of Fred Bear shown in the brochure are excellent, the inaccurate text is a discredit to history and to the memory of our beloved Fred Bear.

Attached it a copy of the back page also. I was also informed that the "Kidde" company at the time owned Bear Archery.

The information that has been received has been very informative and interesting.
Cheers.

Dustman, I was not aware that there was any controversy about the booklet. Bear was owned by Kidde at that time. Ownership changed hands several times.

The note at the bottom of the page, tear out and save, suggests they were originally inserts in either a catalog or magazine.

Any details on exactly which part of the text is misleading? Which broadheads were incorrect?

I was hoping Dustman would add some more information about the discrepancies in the booklet. I guess not.

Let me throw out a couple of things.

Apparently there is a facet of Fred Bear's life I have not seen anyone cover. He obviously was into self degradation.

So, Bear Archery comes out with a booklet detailing the history and evolution of the Bear Razorhead. Fred, being a smart man, knows that there are inaccurate and misleading parts in the text, but it's OK. It's only his reputation and integrity that are on the line. His detractors will have a field day, but it's all good. Really?

Fred sent Hugh Rich a supply of booklets including one he wrote a personal note on.

Additionally, after Hugh told him he liked the booklet, Fred sent Hugh a note.

I'm just not buying what someone on ABCC, which I'm assuming is The American Broadhead Collectors Club, is selling. Doesn't make sense. Even though Bear Archery was owned by Walter Kidde and Company, Fred remained active within the company. I can't believe if the booklet was inaccurate or misleading he would say or do nothing. I keep adding 2 plus 2 in this situation and coming up with 3.

Anyone got some more information they can share? I would like to know the whole story.

Hello, interesting reply, thank you.
Like I said, I posted it up on the ABCC Facebook page back in February last year.
The booklet, it came from the middle part of an American Archery magazine that I read many years ago.
I posted it up on the ABCC Facebook page because I thought it was an interesting (what I thought was factual) read for not only myself but others members of the ABCC.
Now if your would like to visit the ABCC Facebook page, you will find several answers as to why I was told that the contents of the booklet were incorrect.
Cheers.

Thanks Dustman, but I'm not a Facebook member and don't wish to be. Perhaps someone can access the page and supply the answers. Some Facebook pages can be looked at without being a member. The ABCC page does not appear to be one of those.
