Thanks to TAS and Darren for letting me try this hopefully fun special shoot!

TAS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FANTASY TARGET SHOOT

Mode of Competition:

+ Everyone who wants to shoot signs up and pays the starting fee.
+ Depending on number of shooters, we will separate into shooting groups.
+ Arrows may have to be retrieved between shooting groups if it gets too crowded on the target.
+ max. two archers shoot side by side
+ Youth and cubs will form their own shooting groups. Starting distance will be different from Adults.
+ Paying the starting fee qualifies you for the first round.
+ You are allowed a maximum of 2 arrows per round, cubs max. 3 arrows.
+ We will start to shoot at around 23 yards, youth 15 yards and cubs around 10 yards.
+ Target will be the Dragon, Troll or Swamp Imp (the yellow thing) target.
+ Different targets may be assigned to different age groups.
+ Not all areas of targets will be counted as hits.
+ Target areas counted as hits will be clearly designated prior to shooting.
+ Of course, no binoculars allowed.
+ This will be a hit or miss game.
If you score a hit with the first arrow, you are done for this round.
If the hit is questionable or you hit a part that does not count as a hit or missed, you are allowed a second arrow. (Cubs up to 3 arrows).
If you score a hit during the first round, you will move on to the next round.
+ If you miss with both arrows (cubs with 3 arrows) you are out.
+ Consecutive rounds:
Second round: We will move the shooting line back 8 ft. Same modus as in round one.
Third round, we move the shooting line back 9 ft. Same modus as in round one.
Forth round we move the line back 10 ft.Same modus as in round one.
Fifth round 11ft. Same modus as in round one.
+ For additional rounds we move back (previous move back distance +2 ft).
+ Last man standing wins, the second is who shot against the last man standing.
+ If there are multiple people in the last round who all missed, there will be a shoot out at that same distance with one arrow each.
+ If multiple people hit, then the line will be moved back again and the game continues with two arrows until first, second and third place are determined.
+After each round, there are max. 3 minutes allowed to search for missed arrows, so bring replacements, or just hit the target :-))

Location: to be announced after checking with the hosting club

Shooting times: to be announced after coordination with Darren and the hosting club

Approximate shooting time: 45 minutes (based on previous experience with around 50 shooters who signed up, so can be faster or slower)

Like Darren said: 50% payout of shooting fees of each age group to each age group.
First Place 30%, Second 20%, Third 10%
In addition to the payout, the first place in each age group will be awarded a trophy matching the theme of the shoot.

Shooting fees: $6 fee, youth $3, children under 12 $2.

Sounds like fun? Different? I hope that we'll have many shooters enjoying this different novelty shoot experience.

Chuck, I am not a dealer for them but I can definitely assist you ordering. The guys are some young designers I remember from 3D shoots back in Germany when they were around 12 years old. As you saw there is a kids class in the special shoot.

what is the currency exchange rate between them and us?  shipping has to be almost as much as the target itself.

It depends how many targets and what kind of foam you want. The stated prices are in Euro but include the 19% value added tax. This 19% tax would be deducted from the price you would have to pay. Depending on the weight of the target, the shipping is around $63 to your door in USA. I ordered three and there would have been around $90 shipping. But I also got the heavier premium foam targets which are suitable for compound bows. For traditional, the normal weight foam should be fine.
You have to multiply the price by around 1.20 to get to US$. With the tax deducted that makes the given price the $ price you pay + shipping.
Example: Buy a forest troll and a dragon in the normal foam. The weight is 4.2 kg each and the price for shipping up to 10kg is $63.
The overall price would be $228 for the troll and $219 for the dragon =$447 +$63 shipping. So shipping is around 14%.
One 4.2kg target may be sent for around $45, but not likely as 0.8 kg is not much of a shipping container.
So shipping would be around 20% of cost.

We have the winners of this fun event. The Youth class sign up was small, the Cub class had a fierce competition as well as the Adult class. Cubs and Adults had a shoot-off for first and second place.
I will post pictures and names tomorrow, but there are some happy kids and one man out there now with some more cash and a one of a kind trophy. The ones for next year will be different and the rules will need some slight adjustment for scheduling reasons. Other than that it was running smooth and everyone seemed to have a good time. Thanks to all shooters supporting this novelty shoot!

I shot this and it was great fun! I made it back to the 40 yard stake, but by the I was holding 8 inches over! The winner that day, in our group, nailed it at 50 yards

Questions answered about shipping costs:

Normal foam targets:

up to 5 kg = 30,00 € =approx.$36 One of the small targets (Moor-Imp, Dragon or Troll) fits this box

up to 10 kg = 50,00 €=approx. $60  two small targets (Moor Imp, Dragon or Troll) fit this box

up to 20 kg = 75,00 €=$90  in this box, four of the small targets (Dragon=Säbelschwinge, Moor-Imp, Troll, Frutti di Mare) fit this box.

I plan to run this Fantasy Fun Shoot again in 2019.
I am looking right now what we do for this year's special trophies.
The targets will be the same as last year, I might switch the specific target of the age group to keep it fresh.

I plan to run this shoot on Friday and Saturday.
I will also shoot in the regular championship, so the time frame will be in the afternoon on Friday and Saturday.
I plan to run a round at each full hour starting at 2PM til 5PM.
That makes a total of 4 rounds you can sign up for each afternoon.
Each round requires a separate sign-up fee of course.
Same payout as last year is planned.
