Well, today London Oaks will be invaded from all directions again, we have bowhunters coming from Texas, Florida, Utah, and Colorado all to pursue our wired whitetail!

We have Bob Burton, Frank Trupia, Kent Hansen, Dave Weidenfeld, and Vic McKeegan(sorry if mispells guys) rolling in for what I expect to be an action packed week.
It was a chilly 23 degrees this am, a sliver of a moon, and I am getting all type of reports of bucks chasing does, so I have every reason to believe it will be a great hunt.

To top it off, Bisch will be helping me guide, along with Zeke, his tracking dog in training, so it should be a hoot. bisch has also promised to bring some of his Mojo with him...critters just seem to die when he's in camp!

Hopefully it wont be too chilly to hit the 3D range, anxious to see this Hansen guy shoot! We dont have too many locust for him, but we do have chiggers that are about the same size!

Reading this as I'm sitting in the SLC Airport...anxious to hit the TX dirt and help Tim rid his new property of those pesty deer! Really looking forward to meeting the fellas and sharing a few yarns! Ah, Tim, just warning you ahead of time, my shooting ain't a thing to behold...like watchin a monkey make love to a football...mostly a bunch of senseless gyrations with only sporadic results!

See ya'll soon.

Good deal! I talked to Vic last night, he maded to Texas, and be at the Ranch sometime today.

Kent, There’s a big field on the left side of the cabin. When we were there in October, we did some afternoon stump-shooting in that field.

Tim, I have shot with Hansen and can tell you for certain that he definitely knows which end of the arrow to point downrange. He is an excellent archer, as you doubtlessly know by now. Also, I have shot with Vic, and he too is good. It sounds like a very good group of fellows for this gathering. Pick a spot, guys and good luck to all.

I talked to Vic. He got a shot off tonight, hit an 8 point high. I expect they’ll be looking for him tomorrow after the morning hunt.

Everyone made it to camp, and its a great group. Variety of backgrounds, regions of the country, and equipment represented makes for a fun time!
I already have Bob Burton shooting skinny carbons...(just kidding)

Yes, 4 men hunted last night( Bisch really just observed) with an average of 12 deer seen per stand, pretty much with a 1.5 :1 doe to buck ratio...that’s some pretty hot action!

Good luck to everyone.  Great to see all those deer are coming to the feeders.  I think it's because they remember all the times I missed them when I was down there with the London Oaks 2 group last month. They figure it's a safe bet. Little do they know that 'Ol Two Bucks Vic is sitting in the blind now....  Post lots of pictures.

Well done all around.  Congrats Kent.

And Bisch, always nice to have a dog in camp.  Even if they do occasionally run off. [smile]

Well, Vic got on the board tonight with a nice little 4pt! Zeke did an awesome job, and went right to the deer. Even though Vic made a dang good shot, there was no visible blood on the ground! He deer didn’t go very far, maybe a 100yds, and I’m pretty sure we would have found it anyway. Zeke just made that happen a bit faster!

Congrats again Vic!!!!!

And I just realized no one has posted pics of the 8pt Kent got this morning! Zeke and I had to run to the house for a little bit, so we didn’t get to take part in the recovery, and we weren’t needed anyway!!!!

Congrats Kent!!!

Nice shootin’ fellas!
It looks like y’all picked a great week/weekend to be hunting. I’m sure there will be more scores in store.

Bisch, it looks like your Jack Russell is going to make a fine tracker. I’m sure he’s having a ball.
If you haven’t had it done already, don’t forget to snakeproof him.

Thanks Bisch. Was starting to worry that no pictures meant no deer.  Congratulations to Vic and Kent.  And, of course,  Zeke. Looks like you guys are having a ball.  Keep up the good work. (But leave just a few for when I get back down there in late-Jan or early-Feb).

Forgot to ask - who's shooting what bow this week?
