This booklet was published in 1978, when Bear Archery was owned by Walter Kidde & Co. It's the history of broadheads used and eventually made by Fred Bear. On a previous thread, Dustman said that there was some incorrect information that was noted by a member of the American Broadhead Collector's Club and that the incorrect text was a discredit to history and to Fred Bear's memory. I'm not on Facebook so I don't know exactly what was incorrect.

What I find interesting and puzzling is that Fred sent a supply of the booklets to Hugh Rich, including one that he autographed to Hugh. When Hugh told Fred he liked the booklet, Fred sent him a note stating he was glad he liked it and there was, "Some good meat there".

Also interesting is the fact that the ABCC helped compile the history.

Hard to believe Fred would have endorsed a booklet that was detrimental to himself.

Anyway, on with the giveaway, as I think this is still a good bit of history.

If you're interested, throw your name in the hat and I'll pick a winner Saturday, 6/1 at 6 PM, West Coast time.

CONUS only, please.

Good luck!

Guessing it was the next to last paragraph. Fred was worried about game loss, as I recall, and pushed for bigger, sharper, more bladed heads, and eventually for approval and use of the POD.

If your able to get your hands on an old copy the "ARCHERY WORLD" magazine.
Check out the July 1978 edition.
You will find several pages numbered from "51 to 66" are missing.
This was due to the number of fill in pages by this BEAR Archery Brochure.
For several additional months there after, this popular magazine at the time, carried the Brochure story of the great Fred Bears adventures, telling of his hunting and Broadhead design and production through time.
Cheers.
