I have these flint knapping tools that don't quite look like other tools I've seen online. The dome is heavy and looks like lead. Would that have been more common in the past? The piece at the top is a blade from a wood plane. Likely there were other pieces with these, but this is all I've got. Don't know how old these are, other than being more than 30 years old, or who owned them.

The shards I think may be obsidian.

If anyone is interested in them, let me know. You can have them free of charge.

Flint knapping is something I have always wanted to do. But I have so many irons in the fire I'm afraid these items would be wasted on me. I have received 2 free things from you already Mr blair, just wanted to say I appreciate your generosity. Still haven't shot my eicholtz "release" often enough to get used to it, however the tab u sent me I shoot all the time and has really helped my messy release. Thank you for your generous nature. No need to put me on the list for these items though, unless no one else needs them.

I've always wanted to try flint-knapping. I'd gladly pay for the shipping if you'd send them my way.

Sorry, Andrew, I'm going to back out of this one. I got to thinking that the lead has pieces missing out of it from the knapping process. You see the divot in the center of it. If you use it, more lead will come loose. I don't feel comfortable with that. I believe I will eventually send this to the NFAA museum.

No worries sir. I appreciate your concern with the one piece losing lead. I'll find another avenue upon which to pursue a bit of knapping.

Andrew, you can easily make some of your own tools. If you want ideas. PM
