It is what you make of it. And allow.

I bought a nice Ben Pearson 709 Hunter from a fellow in Arkansas through facebook. I have found friends I haven't seen or heard from in decades, due to multiple moves prior to cell phones, email, etc., through facebook. I believe many users here are on FB, as well as sponsors.

In fact, there's a little facebook "like" icon right above this reply table I'm typing into right now.

I refused to use it until I retired from law enforcement last year...now it helps me stay in touch with former co-workers as well as folks who have retired long before me.

I realize Bob's o p was a parody, but don't knock if you haven't tired it. Archery stuff awaits!!! [thumb]

Like Bud said.....there are many traditional archery, selfbow, bowyers, fletchers, etc. pages on Facebook.  It's the first place most craftsmen/women and individuals post their offerings, projects, and updates.

I don't care to be on Facebook, but I realize that a lot of normal people do. As stated above, a lot of our members and sponsors also use it. It can be quite a convenience, its just one I don't need at this time.

As was said above. . .  I was totally against it at first.  Goes against all my training.  But, if you keep it brief, it is a good way to stay in touch.  I very much agree with the points about the stupid stuff that some folks post day in and day out. . .   Dear Diary !

WOW

If you want to keep in touch with others, call them on the phone, email them or visit them. Facebook is a joke and a bad one at that.  My wife goes to Facebook on her sisters account but only to read other's posts.  My son and his family however, use it all day long.  The s**t they post on there, no worse than anyone else, is ridiculous.  They have to tell the world every little thing.  One time after posting their vacation to Mexico for a long week, their home was robbed. He still doesn't believe it was due to his posting. Keep dreaming my son.  There are enough places for predators to contact the innocent.  We don't need more.  Frank
