Hello.  I will be spending the entire month of June in Aurora Illinois getting a property ready to sell.  I thought I would bring my bow along and see it I could find a club hosting a 3D event while I was out there.  Any members from the Northern Illinois area that might be able to suggest a club close by that may be holding an event during June?

Gary, several clubs in the area have monthly 3D shoots within a short drive from Aurora. Not sure of any Trad only at that time but finding a shoot just about every weekend isn't that hard.

I appreciate the invite, thanks Randall!  I will see what I can do when I am out there, that's only about a two hour drive for me.  Ill have to see if I can make it work when it gets closer.

Thanks again

Gary

Two hours unless Chicago traffic grabs you, then it is four !  Compton's is a fun place and shoot.

If you are a tad early, last weekend in May is a shoot at Bigfoot archers, Lake Geneva ( WI... just a lil bit north)

Joliet archery club
Newark sportsman club
Deer creek sportsman club
Chicago bowhunters
Kishwaukee archers
Blackhawk field archers
Racine instinctive bowmen club
Bigfoot archers
Waukegan bowmen
All these clubs are in the Chicago area. One of the very few pluses Of living in the Chicago area is there are always 3d shoots within reasonable distances just about every weekend

You’re welcome! These are all pretty good shoots and these are just the ones in SE Wisconsin and NE Illinois, there are also a few nice clubs in nw indiana where I’m located. Deep river bowmen, oak ridge archery club, and Iroquois archery club are 3 more you could add to the list. I’m a member of oak ridge archery club and it’s a very nice club. Aurora used to have a great shoot at aurora sportsman club but they ended up relocating and I’m not sure they even have 3d shoots anymore. Good luck!

Yeah, back when I lived in North Aurora I was only about .5 miles from the Sportsman Club, it was right on the Fox River almost on the Batavia border. I used to shoot there until they shut it down because of resident complaints, there was a river walk trail that ran parallel to the range and there were enough votes to close it.  Shortly after I moved.  I looked into those clubs and Chicago Bow Hunters is holding a shoot on the 23rd and 24th, think I will try to make that.

Thanks again!
