I know we haven't even done the TAS Championship shoot yet, but I've been thinking a lot about my fall hunting schedule lately. What have folks got in the works that they might suggest as a TAS member hunt? We had some great adventures last year.

Might I suggest we get in the habit of having many small, near spur of the moment gatherings as well as large, well thought out events ?   Squirrel hunts, bunny hunts, carp shoots, all those are reasons for folks to get together and meet.  When you actually get together and meet, you sometimes have a ton of fun AND get to meet a new friend.  Start small..... do it !

I'm with Chuck on this one. As much as I'd like to hunt Elk in Utah, it doesn't quite fit into the budget... Small game or just camping and shooting would be great. I drove to Cheyenne WY last year for a great weekend of shooting and had a wonderful time with Jack, Kyle and Geoff.

Maybe we could have a "stupidest shot" contest, and the best tale of stupid shots can be told.

Chuck, I think we should host a couple days in the UP of shooting, camp fires, and the stories that go with them!

Perfect! One big target, level ground with no obstructions. Sounds like my kind of shoot...
Any grouse? Squirrels or rabbits? How much for non resident small game license?
See how easy this is...

And, if we are lucky, there may not even be too much snow!

I can contribute the fierce no-ear rabbit.  I shot one ear off practicing at the Jet deer hunt and I think the dog ate the other one off.  And of course, I still have Chuck's balls in a can.  He sent them to me for us to shoot at during the Jet hunt, but we never got around to it.

Bob.... I got balls.... a bushel basket full of balls.    I have a handful of targets that are laying around, and I was thinking.... that post about the Nubby Pate tin can shoot......  We had a fund raiser for Lamont Granger ( Footed Shaft) years back.  It was a 3D and the targets were ALL plastic jugs of all sizes.  It was loads of fun and cheap.  Might have to get my chain saw fired up and reopen some trails and re set some targets.   Heck... even if nobody came, I often spend hours just wandering and launching arrows up there.

The balls in question.  Just in case anyone was wondering.

It bothers me that Bob has Chuck’s balls in a can...sounds like the stakes of those shoots are too high for me!

Whoa   Dave........"level ground with no obstructions."  Just re read that......   that part about No Obstructions....... well, yeah I guess we can work out a few shots like that.   Bring lotsa arrows....

Dis is da Cote deer camp.  Just off a M-35 in da U P.       We got lotsa obstructions and stupid shots are the choice of the day.  As the day wears on, the shots get stupider.

By the way... the truck picture above, I think, was taken on the 4th of July.  Skeeters up there are trapped for their pelts.
