Welcome Deno...... I’ve become busy trying to find whatever I can find on Will Compton...... not to take anything away from P&Y and the others but it all seems to go back to Chief Will Compton..... and unfortunately no one has ever written a book on him and they should.

Ouch! $345 bucks is too rich for my blood. Still, thanks for the link! I've searched amazon before with no luck. Maybe other copies will pop up eventually...

I think Spencer wrote a book about his method. I've had no luck finding it.
Lewis Stone is the man holding the egg. According to the Archery Hall of Fame & Museum, the photo was taken during an archery demonstration before the Los Angeles Breakfast Club, circa 1926.

Stanley Spencer was the U.S. 1927 National Archery Champion; and he had a shooting technique that was referred to as the "Spencer System;" and it was closely followed by a number of target archers of that period.
Look at the form these three guys are exhibiting; ...there's a lot to learn there!!! (Notice that their right elbows are on a horizontal plane with their arrows.)
(Deno, you get to hold the egg this year at our summer archery camp!)

Wow Fred. I got it. The original photo from 1926 included Chester Sey, Art Young, and this dapper fellow Stanley Spencer. I don't know anything about Mr. Spencer hopefully you'll add his history.
