Warrior Challenge was created by Stan Levy's, father, in 1950! It ran till, 1985, when Stand father passed.
Stan decided to bring it back in memory of his father! So after an eleven year hyatis, it was restarted in 1996!!
Well, l won the first challenge, scoring the highest score ever recorded in the events whole history, l did it with an english longbow and wood arrows!!
Now the event is a mix of difficult shots, there are fifteen stations, starting with a bank shot, off the wall, on one knee, next glance shot, off a ramp, next a right-hand shooter lays on his left side, next both feet facing target while sitting, next 3" balloons wishing by at twenty yards, laying on belly head facing target, on, and on the tough shots go, shooting through hanging pipes, through a stove pipe, if you shoot outside, the arrow passes through chicken wire, striping the feathers, the suffering ends with shooting through a four inch hole in a steel bear!!! The trophy is ugly, however what you have go through to win it makes, the most beautiful prize to own!!!
Now, l have trouble posting, with my hand held phone, l would appreciate if you could post the pictures and the back story!!
A man blind in his right eye, shooting a 78# Hill longbow can still be in the game!!! Too, legit to quit!!!
Kids goes to Mamma Dyer and her great family and friends, putting on this magnificent weekend of shooting four courses, plus the hot dot shootout, the Warrior Challenge, raffles, the give aways, lobster dinner Saturday evening, the cooperation of the good Lord to stop the torrential rains for Saturday and Sunday!!! Again thanks to all, who participated and those that made it happen!!!
THANKS, yours in archery Jacques

That kinda archery looks like lots of fun and lots of laughs. And a awesome trophy to boot.
Great story and pictures!
Great to hear from you Jacques. And a great story and pics. But then, how could you not win, you were shooting a Hill Longbow. Now that you've given him the idea, I can imagine Darren introducing this as a new special event at the TAS World Championship.
Well done. Great pics Jacques
