received a text from jim belcher of bivouac bows Tuesday asking for my address so he could ship my new Union Jack takedown out. Him and I worked out a trade over the summer for one of my vintage Howard Hill longbows. i also had a large roll of the vintage mosquito netting with the old school Camo pattern as part of the deal. I picked that up somewhere in my travels. It’s the same stuff Schafer incorporated in their recurve and longbow limbs for years until they Ran out of that Camo pattern. I always thought it was slick so I was finally able to dig a roll up along the way. Anyways, big brown dropped that box off this morning and I must say I was a little blown away with how this bow turned out. It is absolutely flawless and so meticulously crafted. The takedown system is nothing short of perfection. It’s a perfect fit with zero slop. The finish is perfect. The bow sites up perfectly straight and there is no edge wave in the limbs whatsoever. It is perfection. I was able to sling a few arrows before work and man this thing rips an arrow. It is one of the highest performing hill styles I’ve had in my hands I think. I need to run it through the chronograph to confirm my suspicion. Jim is a great guy to work with and I honestly must admit that this is the one bow that I haven’t had any experience with. It’s amazing what he can do with a string follow design. Couldn’t be happier!

Those limbs look Gre
That’s a great looking bow!!!!
That's a great-looking bow, Justin! I have one of Jim's bows, an American Longbow Jim made for Darren. It fits me perfectly and is a definite keeper. Jim says it's essentially the Union Jack that he made under the Belcher Bows banner. It helped me take a nice little doe this past season and I've been so impressed with it that when Darren posted his "What's your next Bow?" thread, one of these and a Sunset Hill were the only two I thought of. Of course, James Berry is making me a Heritage right now, but it's almost like those don't get counted - like those are a given for some reason. I guess I will likely have James make me one or two bows per year for as long as he stays at it, lol.
Congrats on the new Union Jack! Hope is gives you years of great service.
i like how they did the limb tips.
