Well....when TAS started we shared a lot of hunts. I want to believe we pushed that idea before many others. Some other entities, to include PBS are doing it more and more. It is fun and you meet folks from all over. I might be in contention for "most traveled" of the TAS group....i was retired...and wanted to meet folks. Ya know....i never got to meet Fred Bear or Howard Hill.....that bothered me. I really try to meet folks now. A lot of us have done a whole lot for, and in this sport, but we are not Fred, or Howard. So nobody knows us. For most...that is fine. I met a lot of fine folks across the nation. Some are acquaintences....some became friends that i keep in contact with routinely.
That said....we recently tried to hold a reunion hunt, at Tim King's ranch in TX. Six of us were scheduled to show up last week and hunt for pigs or whitetail. Note....Tim's ranch is a favorite place. Tim, and Bisch, who many of you know, are incredible folks. Tim puts on some limited hunts on his ranch, limited to bowhunters. Look him up. Mostly he raises exotic critters, a dream of his.
Anyway....as luck would have it...half of the group had a change of plans last second ( not minute, but second), mostly because of suddenly sick parents. In fact...while there, one more of the group was notified that his dad was admitted into the hospital. What a week.....
We had a great time....shot arrows....told lots of lies....and had a great time. I shot a lil piggie ( photo below somewhere) and we had multiple 'almosts'. Saw some incredible critters.....
TAS can keep doing this sort of stuff...if it is wanted, and acted upon.

As the forum has waned so have the group hunts. I've never been able to go on one but would like to.
Nice, thanks for sharing.
Congrats again, Chuck!
That longbow looked liked one of your Berry bows. I’ll correct that post on the Facebook group.
Looks like you are ready to make some sausage! I'm glad you had a good time with friends, it's a rare and special thing when a group can make it happen these days.
Good to see you on target Chuck. Great pic. Correct about Tim and Bisch. Top notch guys.

Congratulations on a nice pig Chuck. Great to see you back on the forum!
By the way....in Facebook TAS, Darren posted this picture and said he thought i used a Berry reverse handle. In fact...i used the bow i built and posted some pics of here. I call them Bearwoc bows after a mystical beast /spirit of the Ojibwa folk. It is very much modeled after Berry's Taipan II, which after years of searching is MY favorite bow.
