Hi guys- I am going to make some discs for flu flu shooting. My question is the diameter mostly used and also how and what to build them out of.?These will be thrown straight up in the by hand,so I am looking at something that would fly high also. Thanks

Some great ideas thanks!!!
Not for targets, but i really like these heads for pheasant and other up in the sky shots.
You might forget the duct tape, because as it ages it gets gooey and it is hard to get off arrows. Elmers or a wood glue will work fine. Some round foam targets are good to toss in the air, or on the ground.
Use your imagination. Even gallon milk jugs, or 2liter soda bottles, with enough water for weight, tossed in the air. Tie several foot long scraps of ribbon to the small end and they flap in the breeze.
I saved a used 12" tire off a kids bike and just blow up a balloon big enough to fit snugly in the tire... You can roll it, throw it etc. Best thing is you know when you hit it and you are less likely to break and arrow when it falls.
I've used a large plastic soda bottle with some pebbles larger than shaft diameter for weight. Tie a foot of cordage to help throw it.
Thanks guys for the ideas.I think I will try cardboard layers glued together with duct tape around the outer edge. And make it approx 12 inches dia.also gonna put a piece of broken arrow shaft thru the middle, exstending about 2 inches out each side.Heard that it throws nicer.
Ones I shot at back when were made from layed cardboard
The ones I have shot were about 12” diameter, and about 2” thick.

Never really done aerial shooting. I’ve seen archers shoot clay targets.
Make them 24” diameter X 2” thick sounds about right. You can always make them smaller.
