Back during my smoking days, I was known to sometimes shoot with a cigarette in my mouth. Belived it or not, I often smoked while I hunted as well. Didn't matter as long as I was downwind of the critters. Did lead to other problems thouyh.
On two occasions, I had a cigarette in my bow hand when I needed to grab my bow to ready for a shot at deer. The deer hung up just out of range or behind brush while the cigarette slowly burned down to my fingers. That hurts. Had to flick the cigs to the ground. Deer didn't spook, but i never got the shots. On the other hand, I did kill an 8-pointer from a low tree stand while cradling a cigarette in my bow hand fingers during the shot.
Luckily, I broke my 3 plus pack a day habit about 30 years ago.
