Plenty of lookers, alot less likers, and very few commenters. I wish more members would contribute to the TAS subjects and keep the site rolling. Plenty of the same guys keeping it rollin'.

Most other topics are pretty much the same.

Traditional has been watered down to the point that there isn't much left to the concept, which is probably why sites like Facebook have a better fan following than here. It's like major league baseball, lots of pink hats but not many diehard old-schoolers or at least not many who haven't sold out to gadgeteering and target shooting. Lots on pretty bows and everything easy, which translates to not what trad is or should be. We've collectively done a fantastic job of turning the creation and application of simple bows and arrows into a sea of excuses for why simple or challenging isn't worth discussing anymore. It is what it is, and you could see it coming a country mile ago. Diehards have either wandered off to follow their own traditional paths or quit altogether. Real trad archery has imploded on itself, its essence sold to the highest bidder. Most just haven't figured that out yet but the numbers (or lack thereof) tell the score. Too bad, it was a nice run while it lasted.
Good news Sam. Take 'er easy and good luck >>>-----> 🎯
Sam, you are already telling us an awesome story...you had issues. Got it fixed, and you might " be back" at it. Wooohoooo !
Well, this coming Monday I will be released by my back surgeon. I was told if I can handle a lighter poundage bow, I may be able to begin shooting again. If all goes well, maybe I can have a story to tell. Meanwhile, you guys keep the news coming. If nobody has a new adventure, just send Bisch out again. That will give us a story.
Bob.....you really need to retire.....
I love this forum as quiet as it may be. When I had Facebook Over a year ago I was about 1 or 2 ridiculous archery posts from running all my equipment through the wood chipper. I’ve since deleted all forms of social media except for youtube. Now, I guess I’ll never know if 45# will kill a deer Or not. The quality of information is much better on this site. The leatherwall is the only non Facebook forum that has withstood the test of time and that’s because it remains primitive and simple….almost like the equipment we choose to shoot and hunt with.
I have enjoyed this Traditional Archery site. I have also benefited from knowledge gleaned from the site. Those who have disliked my past comments likely will not believe that I only participate when I have something to contribute. It is true that I enjoy participating such that I have commented when I probably should not have done so.
I often read posts on the old site that pushed my buttons, so to speak. I was unable to resist plus I enjoyed injecting my two cents into the thread. I less frequently initiated threads.
Currently I check the “New Posts” listing, the Main Campsite forum, and the Hill Longbowman forum just about every day. Since the site has been revamped, I now rarely read a thread to which I believe I can contribute. Why is that? Something has changed. What has changed? I don’t know. I wish I did! I could then possibly offer a solution.
My desktop is so out of date that it doesn't support a browser that can display the new forum. Works ok on the Android phone.
One of the reason's I haven't posted for a while is the new (now old) site format. I understand there are reasons why and perhaps it needed to change, but 1) it has gotten confusing for me and 2) I don't like having to sign in with Google. Pardon my grassy knoll mind and tin foil hat, but I try to use Google as little as possible. I still enjoy this forum more than any others I have been on, but I am still dropping bread crumbs to find my way around

this is a great place to ask questions about tuning issues. A tremendous amount of experience and knowledge on this sight. I’ll throw in one tidbit for you. Start with wood or aluminum arrows as they are much easier to tune than carbon to begin with.
Jeremy...you and others like you need to share what you've got or know. Understand that in all games ( jobs, livelihoods) there are folks that have been there and done that and then there are those that have less experience. BUT...you learn by interacting with those that have done it, using whatever tidbits meet your needs, and you share what you already experienced, cause pretty soon the old been there's are gone and the newer been there's are stepping up to take their place. Interaction is a key feature. And nicely sharing your knowledge, skills and abilities.
I think most people these days are over on the Facebook sites.
I suppose I don't comment much as I don't feel like I'm "educated" enough. I'm a piss poor hunter in an aware with a piss poor deer population. I struggle with tuning arrows and am constantly upset with my shooting form. So I suppose that's why I keep quiet. I also feel like a younger member (45 y/o) that has a lot to learn. So I just sit back and listen.

There's such a thing as quality too. That's why I don't post much. 😁
If you compare the quality of conversation here with some of the FB stuff, for example, the quality here is well above the other.
Yeah, I think a lot of the interaction has shifted to social media platforms like instagram.
I still respond fairly often, but this year has been a bust, so no stories of my own. After my back surgery in October, I have not touched a bow. In two weeks the medicos say I can pick it up again so maybe next year... This season I have had to depend on other people's stories to enjoy the deer season, but there have been very few entries to read. Clicking on likes or dislikes is not something I do. I don't think this is the only site with less participation, either.
Well thanks to them that do post!
I don't often post something when I read a thread, but I do try to chime in when I have something positive to add.
To me the most important part is that people are reading the forum. Trying to judge things on clicks and likes and comments might lead to disappointment more often than not.
Well, if USPS is on the ball I will have some pictures to share of my new Wes Wallace LB. Then of course will be a post about how it shoots, maybe one on arrow selection and so forth. Who knows, the buckle series starts in January, might win something to show off.
I hear ya Deno. Getting disillusioned.
