Black Widow Bows announced they will be offering carbon limbs for the first time.
After lots of testing in the field the new carbon limbs are available.

I never had any interest in carbon lims, so I don't know much about them. I would like see a comparison of this bow to one like it without the carbon. The performance improvement would be interesting to know.

Darren, are you thinking of selling your string follow bow, that Craig built? Probably should if you caught the speed fever.

I post bows because the sponsor advertise with TAS. Black Widow has been a sponsor since day one.
I owned 2 Black Widows in the past.
I‘m still shoot my straight limbed longbows. That one that Craig built is really special since to me, it’s my tribute bow to John Schulz. I don’t plan on selling that one anytime soon.

I've had some experience shooting bows with carbon strips in the limbs (Super Shrew, 21st Century) and although carbon does seem to improve performance and maybe add some stability it also increases noise quite a bit, or at least the noise tone is louder/more noticeable. I've had a number of MA Widows and although excellent bows they needed more-than-average tuning to be quiet. Point being, with regard to noise I'd be careful about the new carbon limbs until they've been field-tested for awhile. They might be good performers but in the woods a quiet bow of average speed is alot better than a loud bow that's fast. Not saying they are loud (haven't shot a new one) but they might be. Like the saying goes, caveat emptor...buyer beware.

I am curious to see what speed they gained.
Several years ago I was able to shoot TradTech limbs at LAS with John Wert. The wood/glass vs carbon/wood, vs Carbon Extemes(carbon cores).
Gained 4 fps going to carbon/woods, then another 8 fps going to the Carbon cores

Has anyone who ordered a Carbon Black Widow been able to get theirs? I ordered a PSA mid February and it is not done yet.

Darren, that’s saying a lot, as I recall those orginal 21 C bows weren’t slouch bows in the pref department.

Tom, The Impala longbow I have has unidirectional carbon under the cross carbon on the back of the limb, and it's much faster than my 21st C and recurves.

I've been a Widow shooter for quite some time and they have always been good shooters. Perhaps carbon might make them better but I'm satisfied the way they are. Frank

I’ve only shot one bow with carbon(no glass) limbs. It was a JT Traditions Apollo longbow, and was saweeeeeeeeeeet!!! I bet this widow will be also!
