Not trying to put people in a corner, to demean, to ridicule....only to start some thought. With no response here neccessary, how many of you are members of your local, state and national archery groups ? How many are actually involved in teaching and mentoring orhers, and making your views known ?
Not everybody has the means to join everything, nor the time or desire to get actively involved in everything, but if each of us gets a little involved in at least some aspect of what we do the world could get to be a better place.
What can you do ? Well...join a club. We all have local clubs, whether local sports clubs, local archery clubs etc. And while you are at it....actually participate. Its fun...if you let it be, and you meet other folks.
Join an on- line group. Again, more friends. And again...participate. i can't tell you how many friends I made being part of TAS and participating.
Join your state archery group, and if possible, get involved. If it is a dried out shell, make it better. Almost guaranteed if you make it fun to be involved, many will do so.
Join a national group. There are many specialty groups. Almost none are like Mary Poppins ( practically perfect in every way), but, once again, they provide a voice and a means to expand. All of them can use input from more than just a handful of members. All have other members just like you, some just waiting to be a friend.
Get out there...its fun.

Good ideas
Plenty of great suggestions there Chuck. Plenty of freindships to be had by just pulling out of the driveway and getting involved.
