Just bought another copy of this book on Ebay, Lots of info and articles from the best of the best.
I usually buy more than one of the "really good" Archery books. They tend to grow legs and walk
away...😏 Well worth the read if you have a copy. Howard explains in a very detailed article as to why he shoots a longbow over a recurve.

There's always this...
Ugly C, I suspected that was the case, thanks for clarifying. Probably an entertaining read but the search for Hill material that Hill actually authored himself continues.
fistmele, Howard Hill did not write the article describing his hunting techniques, although he is quoted several times about what he does while hunting and also preparing your equipment for a hunt.
The author, Louis Hochman wrote other books on various subjects, but he did mention this book was the one he enjoyed the most, which doesn't make him an expert by any means. He did, however, do his research and enlisted the aid of many well known archers.
Interesting looking cover, it certainly suggests that it Howard is providing the archery wisdom behind the reading material. But salesmanship often tricks buyers into thinking one way while facts often suggest otherwise (the wonders of marketing). I haven't read or heard of this book, but who is Louis Hochman and did he have the sort of relationship with Hill that supports the assumption that there are actually some of Howard's archery secrets laying nestled behind the cover? Just curious.
Yes, good book. I had the paperback copy that was falling apart and managed to buy in the hard copy.
In addition to many of the photos from Shawnee archery, Howard's shop, quite a few were taken at Hugh Rich Archery.
Good articles for the do it yourself crowd on string and arrow making.
Looks like there's one on eBay.
Let me just flick that pic around Bob 😉
Dino; I certainly agree with that, even with the reversed photo of Howard on the cover !!!
