Hmmm. Brings to mind an interesting occrrence at the archeryh club I belong to. A former member moved to Colorado, and after being out there several years, he brought back to Wisconsin a beautiful 6x6 elk mount that he said he shot in Colorado. Folks were a little suspect because the fella was very overweight and hardly ever walked in the woods. His western hunts were comprised mostly of riding a 4-wheeler, according to one person who once hunted with him.
Anyway, the mount hung in our clubhouse for several years. The clubhouse was vandalized and most of the mounts spray painted so they had to be taken to a taxidermist for restoration. Turns out the elk antlers were sheds. Haven't seen the person who gave the mount to the club in years, and the mount still hangs in our club house. Very handsome animal.
