Quiet now. No visuals in the field. Breezy. 5 Swans just went over me at treetop height.

Hens are talking. One came in to visit me a bit ago. She fed all around. Still see her, but now about 60 yards out.

Day 3. Quiet, overcasr 39 degrees and a little breeze. I am on a slope about 40 yards from a private field. Was beans last year. Few gobbles, but i see 10 -12 turkeys in the private field. maybe 120 yards away, including one strutting gobbler.
Problem is, and always has been.....getting them to swap fields. A new top secret weapon was deployed this am..robo gobbler. No....not motorized. But it looks like a frankenturkey. Finished cobbling it together yesterday. We shall see...

Hens are talking, just 200 yards away. Mallards and woodies flying and talking . Cranes will start up soon. Songbirds singing. Waited all winter for this.

Ew...43 degrees, gobblers roosted on my ridge. And they are talking. I won already, no matter the outcome.

Man o man....great job you guys ! Today was our turkey opener. It was 26 degrees out. I had a nice gobbler within 6-8 yards, just a few steps shy of getting shot at. But something didn't work and it just turned around and walked away. I won...called it and a few others over from a couple hundred yards away, on the neighbors field. Just...almost.

Thought I would post a couple of pictures from this hunting season. I was blessed to be able to hunt quite a bit and with really great friends.
Here's a turkey I got this past spring.
