Bow showcase: picked this one up today in my travels. 1981 zebra 57@29. It’s hard to find these in lighter draw weights like this but they’re out there. This zebra has black glass both sides and is well used. I wish these old bows could talk. This bow sights up beautifully with extremely narrow limbs. Everything is symmetrical and tight. the string grooves look great. This is such a smooth pulling bow. I always try and snatch a zebra up when one comes along. Enjoy the pics

I like everything about that longbow 😘
Another nice find. Except for some wear on the grip wrap and shelf plate looks like the bow was well cared for. Always wondered about those bows. Out West here we didn’t see many different makers bows. Wasn’t the maker from Iow?
I like everything about the Grevy's except the limb tips.
Justin, that is an outstanding bow! Your like a bloodhound when it comes to finding vintage longbows.
Shoots really good too! i had to replace the original string from 1981 but it throws a fast arrow nice and quiet. Happy to find one in a manageable weight.
You can find them.
Thanks for sharing, it looks like my cheetah bow from Craig Ekin
That's a good-looking grevy, Justin.
Is it missing the zebra decal on the Upper Limb? I bet it does shoot good for you... Just like mine does. Let me know if you decide to get rid of it.
Yea the outline of the sticker is still there but somewhere in its travels, it was lost. Wish I could get a replacement but it’s just part of the bows story. Louie doesn’t get enough credit. He could build a bow!
Well, the sticker didn't make it shoot any better that's for sure. I agree, Louie doesn't get enough credit for the bows he built. I've owned and shot a pile of ASL's over the years and I can't think of one that's better than Louie Armbrusters Zebra.
Tom: I think you asked where Louie lived. Beetown, Wisconsin (southwestern Wisconsin) He did make some very nice bows. Rare to find any below 60# though. Good find, Justin.
