Vintage Stotler made Howard Hill

Here’s an extremely rare stotler made Howard Hill longbow for sale. I picked this bow up last year from the original owners son. The original owner had unfortunately passed away and he was quite an accomplished bowhunter. His son ended up with all of his archery equipment but was not a bowhunter so he decided to pass it on to someone else. I bought this bow and another stotler made bow named ”the swift” from this collection. This bow “the emperor” is the only one I know of from this time period with black facings on the belly. That is why the signature is done with white instead of the usual black that you would see on the white, gray, yellow, and green glassed bellies of the stotler and darling made hill bows from a similar time period. This is a pre production bow so this one didnt have any specs written on the riser. Just by flexing the limbs, I would say 60lbs maybe? This bow has the original linen string too which is pretty neat. I wouldn’t recommend shooting these older hills. They‘re strictly collectors in my book. I learned that the hard way back in 2018 when I blew up one of the best shooting darling built hills I ever had my hands on. That one is now on Bob Burton’s rack all glued back up and repaired. He’s the one who told me these bows shouldn’t be shot and I agree with him 100 percent. These older hills are extremely rare these days and almost impossible to find in tact. Here is your chance to own a piece of archery history. this is a very unique bow. When talking with Bob Burton and jerry hill we had a hard time figuring out what the facing was on the belly of the bow. We thought it could be baleen and also speculated it could be lamicoid. It’s pretty neat looking in that it’s almost translucent under certain angles in the sun. Anyways, hope everyones 2021 is better than 2020. $650 will get this one to your door conus. Enjoy the pics
